COVID-19 Patient Monitoring System: A Lifesaving Technological Initiative
During the COVID-19 pandemic’s critical phase, I developed an automated monitoring system for home-isolated patients within the district marking a pioneering approach to patient care endorsed by Karnal’s health authorities. This groundbreaking project played a crucial role in the health management of over 10,000 patients, showcasing the power of technology in crisis situations.
Collaborative Effort for Wide-Reaching Impact: The system’s creation was a collaborative endeavor, uniting the expertise of over 200 medical students and physicians. Together, we established a robust monitoring mechanism that could track the health status of thousands of patients in real-time, facilitating immediate medical intervention when necessary.
Innovative Technology for Real-Time Health Monitoring: At the core of this initiative was an innovative use of Google Sheets and Google Apps Script, which I engineered to serve as the interface for the monitoring system. This setup enabled the triggering of color-coded alerts based on the patients’ health data, allowing healthcare professionals to prioritize and respond to critical cases swiftly. This feature was instrumental in saving numerous lives, proving the efficacy of simple, accessible technology in emergency health response.
Comprehensive Training and Support: Recognizing the importance of user competency in the system’s success, I undertook comprehensive training sessions for all stakeholders involved. Additionally, I provided continuous technical support, ensuring the system’s reliability and effectiveness in tracking and responding to the health needs of isolated patients.
